About

Nature Explorers is an online destination, a place to share your experiences in nature, broadcast your opinions on green issues, and get fun ideas on how to connect with the natural world, whether it’s some remote national park or right in your backyard. This space is for anyone who has an interest in nature and is looking for ideas on how to connect – connect with nature, and connect with others who like nature.

It’s for people who don’t know a lot about nature, but want to. And it’s for young environmentalists and nature geeks who already love nature. It’s for people who want to protect the planet, and people who just want to explore their own little corner of it. You don’t have to be a hardcore naturalist to join – just have a little curiosity about the great outdoors!

Oh, and parents and teachers, don’t be shy. You’ll find plenty here for you too – ideas, tips and advice on everything from how to get your family off the couch and outside, to facts and figures about the natural world you can use to live a greener lifestyle.

Nature Canada is a national non-profit organization with members in every province and territory – and even outside Canada! Who are our members? Animal lovers, birders, hikers, trailblazers and treehuggers. They’re students, teachers, parents, volunteers and community groups. Each one shares one thing in common: they all love our planet and what to connect with nature.

Our mission is to protect and conserve wildlife and habitats in Canada by engaging people and advocating on behalf of nature. Our vision of Canada is a place where threatened species and ecosystems are protected, common ones are conserved, ecosystems are maintained and people embrace a culture of conservation in their everyday lives.

Most of all, we believe that every Canadian should feel connected to the vast natural world that surrounds us.
