We will be meeting at the M.A.R.C building in Bridgewater and after stargazing we will have an outdoor fire at the fire pit.

Join Nova Scotia Young Naturalists and Project WET team for some fun activities designed to get us thinking about water – its importance and how we need to work together to protect it. Activities are based on the Project WET Curriculum Guide, an international program which provides educators with hands-on, interactive, activities for learning about water in a variety of settings. They also have groundwater and watershed models, which show how water moves above and below the surface of the Earth.

Escape from the city to Pinhey's Point Historic Site for a day of winter fun. Take a horse-drawn sleigh ride, explore the site on snowshoes while keeping a look out for animal tracks, learn winter survival skills and warm up with hot chocolate and marshmallows by the fire. Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family.

Join a wilderness survival expert at Pinhey’s Point Historic Site to learn techniques for surviving the cold Canadian climate. Learn about shelter-making techniques, edible plants and how different species of animals adapt for winter. Enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate back at the house after the activities.$15/person. Ages: 12+.

Waterton Winterfest

Come and enjoy four days of winter fun in the magic surroundings of Waterton Lakes National Park.

The Waterton Winterfest, with snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, horse-drawn carriage rides and other activities, takes place on Family Day weekend in February.

Join us at the Little Prairie picnic shelter on the Akamina Parkway for a hot drink before warming your soul on the ski and snowshoe trails. Bring your own gear or rent skis and snowshoes from the Waterton Lakes Lodge or Waterton Glacier Suites. Guided trips will also be available.
